SIDE EFFECTS OF THE REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURES AND COMPLETE DENTURES IN ELDERLY PATIENTS

Abstract:

The application of the removable gnatoprosthetic dentures into the oral cavity induces some modifications of the oral structures, with unfavorable effects on it. The aim of our study consisted into the identification and notation during the surveying activity, of the oral modifications, prostheticaly induced, occured on the treated elderly patients. The clinical signs are present into a large diversity, looking up to teeth, mucosa, parodontium and the alveolar ridges. By knowing these and the possible etiological causes, the practitioner will be orientated through a carefully examination of the case, an individualised treatment, favourable integrated into the stomatognatic system and to create an efficient prophylactic system by respecting the fundamental principles of the gnatoprosthetic therapy.
