Abstract:

In the abnormal chemotaxis found in the aggressive periodontitis an important role may belong to the altering of .different components of the stimulus-biological answer
Diminished levels of diacylglycerol kinases and of protein kinase C, or an abnormal signal transduction through CD38 which initiates the cytoplasmic calcium responses, belong to these deficiencies. Unfortunately in these cases, neutrophils do not answer to the treatment with LXA4 and the intense generation of superoxyde cannot be stopped.
Degranulation and release of proteolytic enzymes including elastase, which present cytotoxic capacities and the release of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1, TNF-alpha, the myeloperoxidase-
hydrogen peroxide-chloride amplifies the tissue distruction.
