RED DEER ANTLERS USED AS A BIOMATERIAL IN GUIDED TISSULAR REGENERATION

Authors: Paul Prodan, Silvia Mârţu

Abstract:

Taking into account the red deer antler’s content rich in active biological substances (BMP2, BMP4, IgF1, IgF2 şi PDGF), the hereby paper aims to analyze its utilization following a physico-chimical processing in the purpose of guided tissular regeneration (GTR). For this study there have been used pigs as experimental animals, especially because of the biological similarities existing between these animals and the human body.
