Abstract:

The purpose of this study was that of realizing a critical evaluation and implicitly a correlation between the state of mandibular edentation and implantar therapeutic necessity. We have evaluated in this purpose a group constituted of 179 patients, 93 women and 86 men, with ages between 18 and 72 years old, who came in the Clinic of Gnatho-Prosthodontics from Iasi, in the private dental office of the MD Alina Jehac and also in the private office of Prof. MD PhD Vasile Burlui- Domenico Med, in the period between 2002-2005. For investigation the thorough clinical exam, through descriptive and canonical methods and also paraclinical exams were used: gnatophotostatical exam on intra- and extraoral photography of face and profile, study models and radiological evaluation through OPT with markers. The implantar therapeutic necessity at the level of the evaluated study group was of 88.36%. The necessity of interventions on soft tissues in the view of optimizing the surgical field was of 44.98% and the necessity of interventions on bone structures in the ofoptimizing the surgical field was of 43.92%.
