Abstract:

Very fine ramifications are noticed in all the teeth, the number and frequency being variable, with the highest incidence at maxillary wisdom teeth, at mesial roots of mandibular molars and premolars. The morphological dental pulp variances are determined genetically or by
surrounding influences. The age influences the shape and number of channels at different types of teeth; at young ages, before the closure of the apical foramen, divisions of root channel do not appear the division process occurring afterwards. The periodontal ligaments offer ways of protrusion for these microorganisms to the pulp tissue, but most frequently, it remains vital and functional even at teeth with advanced loss of marginal periodontium.
