Abstract:

The Royal College of Surgeons of England is an old society dating back to 1540 when, at King Henry the eighth s initiative, the Company of Surgeons merged with the Company of Barber- Surgeons. With the development of anatomy and the setup of the academic grounds of this science
in the 18th century, the surgeons created their own body, called the College of Surgeons. With time and due to the breakthroughs in the various medical fields, the College also incorporated Anesthesiology, Dental Surgery, Dental Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
