Abstract:

Preventing obesity at childhood age is one of the most effective ways to treat obesity and its numerous complications. Childhood is vital for the formation of a healthy lifestyle that will last long-term and further on in adulthood. A healthy lifestyle requires proper nutrition, regular exercise and special attention offered to the sleeping program. Healthy eating focuses on a balanced diet in the main food groups which provides nutrients, essential for the growth and harmonious development of children. Daily physical activity doubled by a shorter exposure time to electronic devices, as well as a good sleeping schedule, contribute directly to maintaining weight within normal limits and increasing school performance. So, nutritional education, along with appropriate daily exercise, plays an essential role in shaping a healthy lifestyle in both the short and the long run.
